How a happy accident resulted in a new look
I've never truly believed that hair color could be such a powerful thing... I've had my hair purple, pink, pastel rainbow, black, brunette, and, of course, blonde with some shades of red thrown in... I've never felt like it changed my personality in any real way, and I typically colored it more for fun than for any other purpose.
So here is the tea. My hair stylist increased her prices to do my highlights not by a little... but to twice her usual price (Over $300) and frankly, I refused to pay that for a partial highlight.
My partner and I thought we could do it ourselves and save the money... how hard could it be?

I ended up with nearly a fully bleached-out look, which isn't what I wanted, and there was no way to go back once it was done.
I've had an idea to go back to a bright color for a bit and flipped back and forth between aquamarine and bright red. After posting about it online, the results were about 75% of my followers were for red, the other for aquamarine.
After working with a cosmetologist to create a color formula for my base, then adding Arctic Fox's "Wrath" on top, I decided to take the plunge and go full red... like "spicy Ariel" red (as my friend has called it).
And you know what? I LOVE IT! I can't express this enough that I actually feel more like "myself" than I have in a very long time with this new color... like it picked up my spirits and brightened up my entire personality!
It's here to stay for a long while, and while I know some of my followers are less than pleased with it, I also feel it's important to do things that make you feel the most at home in your own skin, too. After all, you are the one living in it... you should be able to adorn it however you wish!
