May Mid-Month Report 🪄

Hello to my fellow fae-lovers, chaos grimlins, and seekers of spice!

We’ve nearly reached the midpoint of May, and it has been a minute since I’ve given a proper update on projects and behind-the-scenes of what I’ve been up to. If you’ve been sensing the hum of new enchantments brewing, you’re not wrong. The cauldron is bubbling over with new designs, creative chaos, and a few surprises.

🔮 Featured Creator with Whimsy Forge

I’m absolutely thrilled to announce I’m now a featured creator with Whimsy Forge!

A little overview:

Whimsy Forge is a stellar community of crafters, artists, and creatives built by Charity Grace. It features a community forum and library of tutorials created by her and select feature creators with a new tutorial dropping every week. With a new fantasy theme each month, she does an amazing job of cultivating a space for all crafting levels.

How did I get started on WF? Charity and I have been following each other for quite some time, and frankly, I was absolutely blown away with her creativity! Her work has also inspired some of my past (and even most recent) designs. I joined WF as a patron looking for community, and she contacted me asking if I’d be interested in joining her team of established creators. Needless to say, I was honored, and I have to say, having a space dedicated to creating with others was something I knew I needed… I just didn’t realize how MUCH I needed it. 🦋 You can check out my creator page on their website here.

My first tutorial just dropped in April—a complete tutorial on crafting a crystal corset using Worbla and resin, blending armor aesthetics with whimsical crystal-core vibes. It’s part warrior, part enchanted pirate dream.

I’m excited to be working with such stellar and stunning creatives on the WF platform!

If you are a creative/crafter/sewist/cosplayer/fantasy enthusiast and are interested in joining the WF community, you can use this link to sign up!

(P.s… this one is an affiliate link… I do get a small commission but you pay the same membership price regardless if you use it or not.)

🪡 New Designs

Moon Goddess Gown: This one has captured hearts already. Picture Aphrodite kissed by moonlight, draped in champagne shimmer, silver tones, and ethereal cream. Corseted base with optional bustle, and she practically glows under candlelight. I’ll have a detailed materials list coming out soon for this one, but if you want to check out the gown that inspired this one, it’s on Whimsy.Forge on Instagram and is a stunning “Kelp” gown :) Charity also has an in-depth tutorial for how to make it on Whimsy Forge in the ever-growing library of tutorials!

Corset Pattern Drafting: I’ve been developing custom drafting patterns for corsets, experimenting with different silhouettes for every magical body type—plus a few playful nods to historical shapes (think 18th century meets fantasy pin-up).

I’ve developed a pattern for an underbust corset and even turned it into a leather corset using scraps a leatherworker friend had sitting around.

Right now, I’m in the process of creating a Rococo design with stays and matching skirt. I’ve been fascinated with the look for as long as I can remember and feel at this point I may be able to pull off the massive amount of labor it’s going to take to recreate something of this magnitude.

🛍️ Launching My Shop: That Lit Witch + New Dedicated Substack!

  • The shop + Substack is now live!

  • You’ll find limited edition designs, commission details, and soon, downloadable patterns and resources for makers, cosplayers, and daydreamers alike will be part of the dedicated substack. Previously, I was running a SFW Patreon strictly for That Lit Witch, but it felt like I was bouncing around between too many platforms to keep things consistent and well-managed. Having my three dedicated spaces on Substack now, it makes my life (and the lives of my followers) much easier keeping it one place. Check out the article I wrote that details everything here.

This next bit doesn’t really go with my shop notes, but it is a shop nonetheless. It seems like every creator out there as an LTK and a Depop these days. So… I jumped on the bandwagon.

I opened up a Depop shop to start clearing out some of my closet to… you guessed it… make space for more projects! If anyone is interested in shopping, here’s the link.

And as for LTK, I’m having a lot of fun posting there. It makes it easy to including Etsy items as well as items I’ve fond from across the internet, not just Amazon. Again, if you are interested in shopping, check it out… anything purchased from my shop gives me a small commission, which helps me keep the magic going!

✨ YouTube

Since posting moon goddess gown (literally 72 hours ago as of the time I’m writing this) the dress has hit over 270k views on TikTok alone and gathered more questions than I could keep up with. I made a short video with the top three questions I was getting, now on YouTube.

On a personal note… OMG is YouTube difficult to grow as a creator but I am thrilled to announce a recent milestone that I JUST hit 5k subscribers! WHOOT!

I’ve actually been asked by a few people why I don’t become a partner with YouTube? It allows for memberships, merch, and monetization options like ad revenue, which would be AWESOME to have.

Well my friend, because their requirements are DIFFICULT. You need 3000 public watch hours in the past 365 days or 3 million shorts views (no, views on shorts do NOT count toward your watch hours) to hit your first milestone. the 2nd milestone is 4000 watch hours or 10M shorts views every 90 days to hit the point of getting the ad revenue.

I was *this* close to hitting the 3k mark this month for watch hours, and my numbers started to decrease since watch hours from 2024 are now dropping off.

Damn.

But, while YouTube revenue is something I really hope for, it’s not enough reason for me to churn out half-assed videos. Thus, I will continue to take my time crafting videos, and since I do want to make tutorials a priority this year, I am hopeful I will hit that first milestone! So please be sure to subscribe to stay updated!
